Next up on our Sideshow Week, Nomad takes a look at the upcoming Quarter Scale Frankenstein figure due out early next year...
Limited Edition of 1000
Shipping Feb/Mar 2004.
In 1931 Boris Karloff portrayed the lumbering, misunderstood monster in the Universal Studios film "Frankenstein." In this non-speaking role, Karloff ended up stealing the picture from its leading man and became a star in his own right. The Monster, later to become the film's title, "Frankenstein," would launch a string of memorable monsters for the studio throughout the first half of the century.
Recreated in 1/4 scale, this Frankenstein Monster figure is Sideshow Collectibles premier version of the Karloff classic. The Figure is constructed on a soft body that houses a semi-poseable wire armature and captures the classic posture of the Monster. The boots have a subtle flocking mimicing the texture of the real costuning. The garments are all exact, including the sleeve lining in the jacket and weathering.
The clothing design and figure fabrication was done in association with world renowned large scale figure artist Greg Mowry. His fashion creations have been showcased in such films as Starship Troopers, Waterworld, and on numerous red carpet premiers. The portrait and hands represent our finest detailed version of the charactor to date, sculpted by Sideshow Sculpture Director Mat Falls. Mat Falls film sculpture credits include Bram Stokers Dracula. The figure's paint design was done by Tom Gilliland, whose film paintwork credits include Men in Black.
The figure is completed with a wooden floorboard textured base that includes sturdy supports for the figure when on display. The figure comes in a well packed sleeve designed box that in itself is a collectors item, as well as being a sturdy protective package to store a figure when not on display.
This figure is now available for pre-order direct from Sideshow Toy priced $225
Given how quick the Quarter Scale Vampyre sold out, we seriously suggest you don't delay on this one
