Palisades Toys have announced the line up for their upcoming 8th Series of Muppets figures due out sometime next year...

From Palisadestoys.com

Series 8
  • Sam the Eagle from The Muppet Show (this is the “naked” version that people have been asking about for a long time!)
  • Usher Scooter from The Muppets Take Manhattan
  • Dr. Phil Van Neuter from Muppets Tonight
  • Marvin Suggs from The Muppet Show

In addition, there is an exclusive planned to coincide with the release of this wave. It is an all-new version of Animal in his signature outfit, with new sculpting, more articulation and a boatload of Animal-related accessories. Expect this to be available at a major retail outlet alongside the Series 8 release.

Series 8 is scheduled to be on shelf in May/June of 2004!

Allllright!!!! Finally, a nekid Sam the Eagle! I have been wanting this one ever since Palisades announced their acquisition of the license! I 'm so happy, I might just skip my meds tonight! Now if Palisades would just get the Lord of the Rings license and make me a nice Balrog action figure, I would be able to sleep peacefully sans meds!

Sounds good but are they ever gonna release the playset that comes with Sweetums? I was really looking forward to that one.
And since there's probably only another years' worth of figures to come out as far as popular characters (remember the Simpsons line?), how cool would it be if Palisaides could somehow get the license to do Fraggle Rock figures? C'mon, we need some Gorgs!
