Bandai send us some new pictures of their upcoming line based on the Cartoon Network Programme of th same name: Knights of the Zodiac...

At Licensing Show 2003, Bandai America announced its new master toy license for the famed anime property known as Saint Seiya to Japanese audiences.

"Bandai has a rich 17-year history with the Knights of the Zodiac property, selling more than five million action figures in Japan, and more than 25 million globally, based on this hit television show and comic book series," said Bill Beebe, senior vice president, sales and marketing, Bandai America Inc. "With the continued popularity of Power Rangers over the last decade and the success of our Gundam line, Bandai America has demonstrated that it has the leadership to drive this unique brand to success in the U.S."

Bandai America will introduce a line of 5-inch and 8-inch articulated action figures exclusively to the U.S. market, geared towards boys ages 6-10 years old. The line will debut at retail in January 2004, with additional toys such as scarred action figures, game cards and role play items coming out in future assortments.

The Knights of the Zodiac TV show debuted on the Cartoon Network's Saturday Action Block on August 30th at 7:00PM.

The figures are very nice. The multi-colored plated ones shown in the picture are much nicer than the flat colored import figures I've seen. The imported plated figures were much more expensive than the regular(flat paint/plastic) imported ones, so I'm happy that Bandai is using these ones.
