Sideshow Toy has officially unveiled their 12" Hellboy figure, and provided us with pictures of three of the figures they will be releasing...

Using conceptual art, screen captures and stills from the movie and their own collections of the comic books, the artists of Sideshow will recreate the B.P.R.D. team of paranormal investigators in hand painted, authentically costumed 12-inch figures especially for the devoted fans of Hellboy. As with every collection in which Sideshow is involved, the attention to detail and authenticity is unmatched anywhere in the industry.

Ron Pearlman, who will play the title character, Hellboy, was Del Toro's first choice of actors for the role. The 12-inch figure of Hellboy created by Sideshow will be authentically represented, with special attention given to the imposing visage of the title character, with his fierce red flesh and glowing umber eyes, and carefully manicured horn stumps. The figure will be costumed in a heavy caped trench coat emblazoned with the B.P.R.D. logo patch, and will include a poseable tail. Hellboy is ready for battle, armed with the heavy stone right hand, and at the ready to draw “The Good Samaritan” from the holster on his belt. The belt includes several pouches, a horse shoe, and a rosary with cross. While the standard version will feature the famous Hellboy grimace, fans will also be able to purchase a Sideshow exclusive version that features Hellboy with his beloved cigar at www.sideshowcollectibles.com. Both versions of this limited edition 12-inch deluxe figure are scheduled for release in April 2004 with a suggested retail price of $45.

Hellboy's amphibious sidekick, Abe Sapien, will also be recreated as a 12-inch figure. The limited edition figure of the water-dwelling mer-man will have marine blue-green skin and webbed fingers and will be costumed in a black stretch wet suit, complete with belt pouch and map case. The empathic Abe comes with an alternate head featuring his breathing apparatus and goggles, ready for duty when he must leave his aquatic habitat and venture onto dry land (or your dusty shelves). Abe Sapien is scheduled for release in May 2004 with an SRP of $40.

The supernatural and spectral Nazi assassin Kroenen is also lurking, ready to strike in 12 inch form! The 12-inch collectible figure of Kroenen will be costumed in elaborately detailed armor and accessorized with two removable masks and his unique bladed weapons, including knives and double-bladed baton-swords of his own invention, all complete with sheaths. The figure is scheduled for release in May 2004 with an SRP of $40.

I really like this figure, but theres one thing thats bugging me. Isn't his coat too yellow and new looking?. According to the Mezco figs it's a light brown and looks quite worn. Whats up with that? [
