Art Asylum: UK TOYFAIR: Lord of the Rings Minimates

We take a look at some of the Lord of the Rings Minimates on display at the Gear 4 Games booth at the UK ToyFair which is currently taking place...

I say some, as the light was tricky here, and some photos need to be reshot. So we'll have more for you in the next few days. But I think the quality of the shots will be worth it.

Gear for Games are to be Art Asylums exclusive UK distributor of Lord of the Rings Minimates

The series will include single minimates, two packs and four packs.

Releases will begin in May for the following single characters at around £5.99 retail:

Aragorn

Gimli

Uruk-Hai Berserker

Legolas

Grishnak

King Theoden

Sauruman

Sauron

Gandalf the White

Gollum

Wormtongue

Frodo

The following two packs will follow
Wave 1: Frodo/Sam, Legolas/Orc, Saruman/Uruk-Hai Berserker, Gimli/Boromir, Grishnak/Merry

Wave 2: Aragorn/Arwen, Witch King/Orc, Gandalf/Pippin, King Theoden/Wormtongue, Twighlight Frodo/Gollum.

These will retail for around £7.99.

Store chains such as Forbidden Planet, HMV and Virgin will stock the LOTR minimates.

Later in the year GFG will release some exclusive minimates and 4packs.

Many of these minis will be on show at GFGs London Toy Show Stand : NB29.

HMV? In the UK? That would be great, I have no forbidden planet where all the cool stuff lives. I've never seen any minimates around but between this line and the marvel ones, I may start collecting. Glad they are going to make an Arwen, does anyone know which of the films the Aragorn/Arwen will be from? The Gandalf/Pippin pack sounds a bit ROTKish.

I STILL think Saurman looks more like the Ayatollah Khomeni than he does Christopher Lee.
