Lord knows how much more Adrian has to show you from our UK Toyfair coverage, but before he fell down from exhaustion and lack of pie tonight, he sent this...

NEW GHOSTBUSTERS IMAGES!!! NECA, masters of snapping up the licenses your crying for, will be cranking out this line in March, or so the reports say. Be on the lookout for The Terrordogs (The Key Master & Gate Keeper), The Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, Slimer and Gozer! These images come from the Star Images catalog, used with their consent. Rumor across the show says that NECA told a retailer that they HAVE AQUIRED ALL LIKENESS RIGHTS to the Ghostbusters franchise!! If this is true, the boys in gray should be right around the corner. When we get confirmation on this, you'll be the first to know.

Gozer looks awesome! I wish they had the whole "gate" thing she stands in front of to complete the effect.

Are those just Photoshop'd images of the terror dogs or are they paintings? I'm confused.

NOW GIVE UNTO ME, BILL MURRAY!!!!

Yes, give unto me Bill Murray as well-but please also give unto me some articulation! Seriously. These look great (not quite sure about Gozer's gaping piehole, but I can deal with it), but if there is going to be as little articulation on these as there has been on other NECA lines, I really don't know if I'd want them. IMO we don't need another McFarlane-one company getting great licenses and putting out posable statues is quite enough for me. Please, NECA. Put some joints onto these things. I want a Ghostbuster that can kneel and sit and stand in a neutral position without looking funny. Please don't make a Venkman that only looks normal in one position.

These figures look good, but if the articulation is as limited as it appears to be, I will probably skip on these. I am in agreement with others on this thread that we just don't need another pseudo-statue toy maker. If these things are going to retail for $10.00 to $14.00+ U.S. a pop, there needs to be some decent articulation. I have passed on NECA lines in the past because of lame articulation. I have already decided not to buy the Kill Bill figures because of the lack of 'REAL' articulation. A bunch of worthless cut joints does NOT an articulated figure make. After SOTA's Laura Croft figures last Summer, I refuse to believe that NECA cannot produce a well articulated figure (20+ points minimum) that still is a faithful and artistic sculpt of the movie character. I collect action figures NOT STATUES!

They all look great. Don't care about 20+ points of articulation. I'm sick of seeing sculpt sacrificed for stuff like Marvel Legends half-useless ammount of articulation. :)

What scale are these? What's Stay Puft's size compared to Gozer, Slimer, etc?

(That pic of Gozer on the front page is scarier than a whole box of living dead dolls)

Splinter wrote: "They all look great. Don't care about 20+ points of articulation. I'm sick of seeing sculpt sacrificed for stuff like Marvel Legends half-useless ammount of articulation. :) "

I agree with Splinter on 'useless' articulation. A figure's articulation points need to make sense and should be 'subject appropriate.' For instance, I agree with SOTA's decision to limit the articulation of the 'Charmed' figures due to the fact that they aren't action heros. They also finally made a highly articulated figure of Lara Croft -- a first after a long line of Lara statue-figures. SOTA's figures (FINALLY) could actually emulate her dynamic poses.

I believe that with a toy line like 'Ghostbusters,' that a reasonable amount of articulation is necessary. 5 points of articulation on Gozer is pretty silly. Do you remember Venkman's line, "Nimble little minx, isn't she?" If you are going to limit her articulation that much, then just make her a plastic statue and go gonzo on the detail.

I would be willing to settle on 11 points for a female figure like Gozer. On the Hounds, they could easily give those a reasonable amount of articulation (read ball joints) without sacrificing the sculpt. NECA needs to be more inventive on the articulation of their figures. When McFarlane makes the effort, they actually produce some well articulated figures -- that don't sacrifice the sculpt.

The figures of the 'Busters themselves could easily be made with 20+ points of articulation without hurting the sculpt. If you want display statues, NECA is in that business as well. If the 'Busters are made and have a bunch of useless cut joints, not only will I not be purchasing them, it would truly be tragic that such a great opportunity to make the definitive ACTION figure versions of these characters would be missed.

On a positive note, I will be buying Stay Puft! He really wasn't that articulated in the movie and he will truly look awesome atop my monitor!

I agree with you - 20 points of articulation would be great for these figures and would not diusrupt their sculpt. I've waited for God knows how long for decent Ghostbusters figures and if they are statues I shall be highly disapointed!

Make plastic statues for those fans of highly detailed figures in which they think that articulation would compromise the aesthetics of the toy.

I personally prefer lots of articulation. Marvel does a great job of making the articulation functional and not as compromising with the look of the figures. Yes, there are some cases that the articulation takes a toll on the figure but in all reality I would take that feature allowing me to pose the toy in whichever pose I deem necessary.

In this case, I agree with BigGuido (strangely we both seem to agree in most of these subjects). These figures should be more articulated. The female should have elbow, knee and ankle joints. The dogs should be insanely articulated and both Slimer and the Marshmallow Man can have two points of articulation for all I care.

Lots of interesting stuff from NECA today on Figures.com...Apparently they got three new licenses in addition to Ghostbusters. All I have to say is that if they get all these wonderful licenses and don't articulate them, I'll riot. I'll honestly riot.

Hey guys-in a member of a GB board and know some of the answers to the questions you asked:
Figures are in a 7" scale-so the Slimer is about 3". Gozer is approx 6 3/4". Staypuft will be a 15" rotocast, and should be under $20. Gozer comes with interchangable hands (with and without lightning bolts) aswell as an interchangable heads and the terror dogs' eyes light up. NECA is atleast securing liknesses to Murray Aykroyd Ramis and Hudson and plan on making Series 2.

Also, gbcentral.com gets frequent visits from an NECA rep by the name of Randy who fills us in on all this info and gives us teaser images early-so you should all go check it out!
