Playmates: UK TOYFAIR: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Press Release

Whilst there was no pictures allowed at the Playmates distributor's stand at the UK ToyFair, they did issue this press release on 2004 release...

Launched into a storm of press and public interest in 2003, best-selling retro reptiles the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have come out fighting in 2004 – keener, greener and meaner than ever!

Bad-ass butt-kicking has never been easier with the new action-packed Extreme Sports Turtles Figure Assortment 2 (@£6.99 each) featuring dynamic dudes Skatin’ Ralph, Bikin’ Don, Scootin’ Leo and Thrashin’ Mike each with their own extreme sports accessory! Further new figure assortments will be launched throughout the year including Scuba Turtles and Space Hoppin’ Turtles.

In the new Deluxe Turtle Figure Assortment (RRP £9.99), each of the Turtles can be Mutated from mild-mannered terrapin into a street fighting Ninja with dedicated battle accessories. Also included is a tub of Turtle Ooze to aid the yucky transformation. From June watch out for the Ninja Action Turtle Asst (RRP £7.99) – each has a flipping and fighting action and comes with his own unique battle accessory.

The Turtles are fully equipped with a range of brand new vehicles to help them in their crusades against Shredder. The Turtle Sub and Pogo Copter (RRP £9.99), each feature missile launchers. The new Turtle Tracker Truck (£24.99) has a fully equipped roof-mounted Bolo Missile Launcher and spring-action Bo Staff weapons in the floorboards! Also available is the new Sewer Lid Launcher, armed with a 360° rotating turret that fires out 30 manhole covers, stopping Shredder’s Foot Soldiers in their tracks!

The Lair playset has been enhanced for Autumn ‘04 with a brand new sewer- trap accessory with Turtle Ooze and exclusive action figure!

Intresting. I wonder if the exclusive figure with the updated lair is the same one that was supposed to be there last year. Originally the lair was supposed to come with an exclusive Splinter. And he was dropped at the last minute. :)
