We've gone through Marvel Legends Series 6 and 7, and now it's time to make a start of series 8 with a look at the upcoming figure of Storm...

Marvel Legends Series 8 consists of:
  • Ultimate Captain America
  • Iron Man Modern Armor
  • Ice Man
  • Storm
  • Man Thing
  • Classic Doc Ock
  • Black Widow

Orphaned as a child, Ororo Munroe developed the power to command the forces of nature -- and once was worshipped as a goddess in Africa for that very reason. As a member of the X-Men, she wields her unique genetic gifts to protect a world that hates and fears mutants

Storm has a wonderful base that mixes lightning with swirling clouds, really helping to show her control of the elements

Marvel Legends Series 8 are due out in November / December 2004

Storm looks awesome! I hope there is a white costume variant. That base is one of the best ones I've seen!

Not to be a nay sayer but I'm really not crazy about her face sculpt.

Which version of Storm is this supposed to be modeled off of?

I would love to see the old mohawk spike necklace Storm!

Base and body sculpt are great though.

She looks awesome, and the base is one of the best ones I seen Toybiz release IMO. Her and Iceman will be most welcome additions to my collection…

This figure looks great. I really like how Toybiz didn't go with the old white costume and something somewhat more "present day". I'd actually have preferred an Ultimate Storm, and I hope one day more and more versions of Ultimate Characters will be released. An Unltimate Marvel line would be sweet. Overall, this looks like a great figure. The base is magnificant.

Storm looks good, but I would have rather preferred the Jim Lee version... like all the other X-Men figures thus far.

The figure itself looks cool, and I'm an X-Men completeist so I'll get it.

    But Man, I hate Storm.

Can wait till coverage of Ultimate Cap though.

This figure rocks. The face is a bit rough but ML made up for it with the base and others. Good job Marvel Legends.

This is the Jim Lee version...just without the cape and circular x's on her chest/shoulders. I assume this will be added before her release...

Toy biz keeps on impressing me with their marvel legends line. I just wish on the base underneath the storm of clouds was a piece of a sentinel. Oh well the figure still looks awsome.

I'm not 100% sold on the colour of the costume or the new hips (I prefer Phoenix's hips), BUT I've been hanging out for a Marvel Legend Storm for so long, I'm just happy that she's here.

Also not keen on the heels or the hands, she needs individual fingers or something. And I heard that she will have her cape thing on the final figure.

I hate to ***** (because I love the Legends line) but Toybiz needs to get a few more torso sculpts. Every female Legends figure has the same boobs. If they just mixxed up the fabric wrinkles and stretches it would make a huge difference. Oh yeah - NO MORE CHASE FIGURES!!!

Wow I actually couldn't agree more with all of your comments thus far. I too am finally glad to see Storm in the Ledgends line-up even though she is far from my favorite character. I would Loooooove to see a Legends comic style Nightcrawler. I also think they should have done Storm in a more recognizeable costume. I always remember her in a white or silver more "revealing" type outfit with the circle x's on her shoulders and cape thingys. The facial sculpt i am o.k. with but WTF is up with that widows peak???? It looks like she should be the bride of Dracula or something. The base is the best Toybiz has done yet, even though it does deviate from the Sentinel pieces precedent set by other X-men figures.

Sorry not to gush here, but I think this figure still needs some work -- especially in the hip articulation department. Three words: SOTA's Lara Croft. Toy Biz, go get one and go from there -- it's really that simple.

I would have preferred to have Storm in her original costume from Giant-Sized X-Men #1. That will always be THE CLASSIC Storm outfit for me. This one will be okay so long as they give her her cape. Perhaps we'll get a classic Storm in a boxed set someday.

I'd have preferred the white.... anything besides the Jim Lee costumes(and movie, I guess... but as long as they stay IN the movies) makes me physically ill. I can't stand the new or Ultimate costumes.

Gotta say this figure is excellent! Great base too! Can't wait to see the close-ups on Ultimate Cap - as from what I've seen so far of him, he rocks!

    Go ML! Go Toybiz!

I'm in the minority with this one. I don't like the face as it seems too harsh, pained or severe. I see Storm as more delicate in the face. This face reminds me of a Disney witch and that is far from how I like to think of Storm.

i've been reading comics for almost 20 years now and i'd say Storm has had no consistant uniform EVER! what i like about this one is that about ten years ago there was an X-men cartoon that at the time was awsome (although pretty cheesy now). Storm wore this costume i think and also, the first toy biz toy of storm had this costume. so to a toy collector like me i think this costume is a great sign of how much they've advanced in 13 years. I do love the mohawk design myself but there are always repaints and variants and such. the white costume to me never really made sense. this one i think is her at her best.
    oh, the base rocks.
