This is a two fold update. We wanted to catch up on answers to some questions we've been getting as well as make sure you're aware of the problems you may have in getting these...


First off, SOTA has been busy addressing your concerns:

The Ryu head sculpt: "Heres the shocker for everyone..the head was designed in turnaround art by the folks at Udon." So all of you that insisted they let Udon handle it, seems this came right from the source. SOTA still went in and is tweaking the sculpt as we speak. They said they'll have an image for you next week.

Ryu's gloves: Some people have said that to be accurate, Ryu should be wearing red gloves under his red pads. "Ryu's gloves are a toss-up..depends what you're lookng at..50% of the time its one way 50% the other." This one will be a judgement call.

Bison's Cape: "Cant comment on bisons cape yet."

Clothing interrupting articulation: "Parts such as Chun Li's shoulders will be soft stretchy plastic with a ball joint underneath. Same with Sodoms shoulders, Ryus gi and some other stuff."

Other video games on the horizon: "I'd be in heaven if I could do Castlevania or Metal gear!" The have also mentioned in the past that they'd be interested in Dark Stalkers if fan interest was high enough.

This next part is very important. We've been watching who has been picking up the Street Fighter line so that we can tell you where to get them when the time comes. The early numbers we've gotten back are very weak. This may just be a case of the buyers not understanding how much your interested in this line. Here's what we'll do. Below, you'll find info pages, email addresses and phone numbers for Musicland and Gamestop. I'd like you to gather your thoughts on paper and then write, email or call with the most intelligent argument they've ever recieved from toy collectors before, in the largest numbers they've ever seen before. You've been making an impact on a line you love by voting for series 2. Now you have a chance to impact how easy you'll be able to find it! Make sure they know how much you love Street Fighter from SOTA.

<font color=blue>Well lets say worst came to worst... Would SOTA still have everything availible through Diamond? And on Getting the word out, I really think SOTA needs more exposure. It's Obvious You guys here at AF got an exclusive with SOTA to be the first guys to premire the images, andI'm guesing thats why they didn't allow any photography at Toy Fair. While it's great for AF, I'm kinda worried about SOTA, they need to appear in more media, like the other websites and magazines and get more of a word out on the figures there making. I Mean AF"s had the exclusive now, but I think it's very crucial for SOTA at this point to get more exposure via other venues now. Also what about letter writing to other chains would that do any good? I mean I could write a letter to music land that I'd buy a bunch of full sets and what not, but I'd be lying cause there are no musiclands around here to buy from. Do gamestop and Music Land order through diamond? I'm going to pass this info through the right circuits and try to make it availible to just SF fans who don't regularly collect toys outside of SF and don't keep up with the news. I'd be immesnly dissapointed a company finally does the SF line just how I like it, but then it never comes to fruit.

    Spread the word. Go to other sites, let everyone know. If these companies get hordes of emails from everyone wanting these incredible figures then they can not refuse. They would be idiots to do so.

    As the owner of SOTA I'd like to say a few things.

    First I really appreciate the support this line is getting from everyone and I think it really shows what great people Adrian and Nomad are for caring enough to start a thread like this.

    Next let me say neither SOTA or the Street Fighter line is in financial trouble. The line will come out on time.

    The problem is that the majority of retailers dont understand how a line of figures based on a game that hasnt seen anything new in quite awhile could be popular. They're not stupid people nor are they 'out to get' the action figure collector. They just dont 'get it'..yanno?

    Look the Charmed figures are getting more orders than Street Fighter right now.. Im proud of my Charmed figures but in no way should they outsell Street Fighter ..right?

    I believe Street Fighter is one of the few lines that crosses all demographics and lifestyles.. it should be readily available to the public who might not even know we're making figures of them. I believe most figure collectors still dont go to the web..they walk into the store and say ' hey..cool..someone made Street Fighter figures'.

    So while everyone on the web is savy enough to just go to an onlne store if they cant find them , theres gotta be tens of thousands of people who wont even know they exist if they arent on the pegs.

    I dont want to come across as whiney because these figures are selling like CRAZY overseas..we'll definately do well as a company with them but Im afraid our US buying public is going to miss out.

    Heh. I'm way ahead of you guys. The moment you guys released the first pic of Sodom I already contacted my local Gamestops as well as the online store. The local Gamestop currently has my order for 2 full cases.

    Here comes the funny part. I wanted to order the figs from Gamestop's online store but they did not have the preorders up. I emailed and called. The operator who I talked to said that it was not up on the webpage and I would just have to wait to see when it does get put up. A couple of days later, I get an email saying they could not find the product I was looking for eventhough my local Gamestops had the info. I called Gamestop online and the new operator I talked to said there was no product they could find which I described eventhough the first operator I talked to knew about the toys because she was wating for the SF toys as well.

    I just wanted to save paying taxes online but it seems Gamestop online made it very hard for me to place an order. They said that it was possible that the local Gamestops can sell things they can't.

    Well hopefully with the influx of fan support of the SF line, Gamestop online will have to take notice and put the preorders up. Too late for me though. I pleaded my case early and got burned. Now I gotta pay the extra tax cost because I'm getting them locally. Oh well...

    why not try contact toybiz and see if they would be willing to do a marvel vs street fighter line with sota handling the street fighter side and toy biz doing the x-men/marvel side.
    It would get the street fighters back in the lime light and allow other marvel characters to be made in legends style it could be just repaints of the normal figures etc

    like
    blackheart vs evil ryu
    omega red vs jumpsuit chun li
    cyclops vs m bison

    would get other people intrested in street fighter
    and allow the retailers to see how well the street figters would sell

    and I think the gloves are good as is. As long as they paint the wrist joint red where it is connecting the glove.

    Chun Li - Perfect
    Sagat - Perfect
    Sodom - Perfect
    Bison - If a cape is decided; PLEASE make it detachable
    Ryu - Head is screwed, PLEASE PLEASE be as accurate to the Manga as possible...

    we need to support those that do our work. i was the biggest star wars supporter but at one point i had to ask myself &quot;why?&quot;.
    these guys deserve our hard earned cash and they've already proved it by taking our input as seriously as they have.

    I got in contact with ForbiddenPlanet (a figures/comic shop around the UK) about stocking these SOTA SF figures. In the email i directed them here, this is the reply i got -

    &quot;There is a possibility that we may be getting the figures in stock, but until the new catalogue comes out next month I dont know for definate. The best thing to do is keep checking our website as new items normally appear there first.&quot;

    Quick question, will there be player two repaints?? And if so will they be as common, more common or less common?? Cuz other companies tend to make the repaint varients way less common if they're good and and way more common when they suck...

    As I asked before, I thought i'd put it here as it would be morea appropiate.

    Besides the sites, who else is planning to sell/retail them? Is there any plans for availability in the mass market such as wall-mart/etc? or Is it more like Previews/Diamond thingy.

    One more questions, are any wholesalers able to order this product? And if so, is there any contacts and etc that the wholesalers can can in touch with. Because, I would like to see more availbility in Canada seeing how SOTA having trouble with financial problems as in not getting enough pre-orders so the stuff could be cheaper....
