Ohh...the name calling. You dubbed him Tranvestite. You ridiculed his choice of lipstick color. You eeeeven doubted his Blue Steel power! Now..fear him...


Or rejoice in the fact that once again..SOTA LISTENED!! We proudly present to you the finished picture of Ryu, complete with fan input action head..hehe. We hope your happy with it this time.

Also, hit THIS LINK and help us finally give collectors a voice by contacting Musicland and Gamestop and telling them how much you want them to carry the Street Fighter action figure line from SOTA. Power in numbers!

I like it....its a cross between the hardened look of street fighter 3 (his brow hair) and the sort of innocent look of the alphas to me.

Thanks everyone.. We all really appreciated your input and our painter promises to never ever question another fighters sexualitly..

I also want to say before the postings come... yes the head is photoshop onto the body. No time to take new pics of the body as it was already sent to china. But the head is real and not a photoshop job.

    Great job, the head looks much better

    On a side note, I think we could all help SOTA out by clicking the link in the story and letting our voices be heard. They them to search "Resaurus Street Fighter" on eBay to see how much demand there is for SF figures.

    This might not be so kosher, but if you have a Gamestop nearby, you can put $5 down to reserve for a set of SF figs. Even if you end up buying them somewhere else you can always get that $5 back as store credit. I think its just important for these to hit the shelves at retail. This first series has to be a big hit for this line to continue. And I'm sure with the quality of the first lineup many "casual" toy/gamer fans will pick these up.

    Oh yeah!! SOTA has done it again. Great head sculpt of Ryu. Very neutral looking but with a good enough likeness that makes me think,"Now that's a kewl looking Ryu!" I have no more serious qualms about buying his fig. Gonna end up with at least two of him for sure.

    Now on to another friendly comment. Although I was not too fond of the first head sculpt, I did like the fact that it had sort of a frowning determined look on him. Mayhaps SOTA will be kind enough to make an alternate version of this new headsculpt with a frowning determined look for the extra head? Swappable heads and all.^_^

    Also, let us not forget Chun Li and her arms. Perhaps SOTA can shorten them and maybe add musculature of some type?

    Well other than that, Excellent job SOTA!! Can't wait for them. Gonna spread the word about these figs to whoever I can. Thanks a bunch fellas.

I was anxious to see how this would turn out, because it is a very crucial part of the line as a whole. I think it looks pretty good, at first glance before i actually read anything and just looked at the pictures i thought it was dare's photoshopped head. But you guys got that pretty close to that, it looks much better. Don't give dare any credit, it'll go straight to his head. Now I'd still like to see a profile shot maybe or 3 quarters view as well, hell i just wanna see the figure in person. So the only thing I think still needing adjustment is chun li's arms, and maybe some eyeshadow for her. I'm looking forward to who seeing who will win in the vote, I know akuma will win his catagorey, but I was kinda hoping rolento would win. I think Akuma needs to be held over for series 3 to give the line more strength at retail, and limit it to like one shotoclone per wave. But on the downside if the line was cancled after series 2 we'd be akuma-less and have a big hole in the collection like Jill being missing from palisades RE line.

    Man! That's a ton better! I gotta give SOTA credit, not only are their figures excellent looking with great articulation, but they really care about their customer base by listening to the fans comments and improving their product based on those that even before their release.

    This question is not pertaining to the Street Fighter toys (although they look incredible, AND Ryu's headsculpt is much better) but the &quot;Chronicles Of Riddick&quot; movie toys!!! THOSE RIDDICK TOYS LOOK UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!

    I just want to know if there is going to be a Series 2 and also if there is going to be a regular Troop Builder Necromanger figure...there is a bunch of them in the movie I think..thanks!

    Slightly generic, but recognisably Ryu. He's a bit more friendly looking than I expected, but if you're going ahead with one of your planned accessories I think that won't be a problem. heh heh heh... Great Job, Jerry and gang! Like I said before, I've never seen any action figure company do a very good Ryu head. I guess that NO LONGER APPLIES!!! I for one, am damn happy. As for things going to my head, why, where did you get that idea*COUGHfreetoysCOUGHCOUGH*? :-p

    great work sota, now i can get the whole set and not worry about future sculpt problems because you guys listen to the fans!
    anyway, heres a tip from me that may help increase SF fan base of these figures, that is to also release lipstick ryu, at a lesser case ratio to straight ryu, this will help attract the queer eyes out there who like SF as much as us!

    You actually care. Now, every collector out there should buy this line not only for the awesome job done with the line but also as appreciation towards a company that actually takes a very unique market niche seriously.

    This definately looks more noble. i didn't know how to explain what was missing any better but sota fixed it. i've been playing this game nonstop since the figures were announced and i must say, it's hard to find an original version of street fighter out there. the P2 capcom/marvel has been the best i could find out there and i think these toys really need to demand a rerelease of the game that works on the dual shock buttons. Thanks for caring SOTA.

    im not a huge street fighter fan but i think im gonna buy these, 1 cos its a great game

    Okay you have no idea how much I appreciate everyones support. Its mindblowing how into this everyone is.

    let me explain a little about SOTA. We're part of a bigger company ( special effects, toy development for big companies and we also produce some music videos and low budget horror movies) . I bring this up to illustrate something...Im not making toys for the money. Im making toys because one day I walked into TRU and saw the second wave of Spawn figures and realized THATS where the real creativity and art was now at! I needed to be involved in this new toy revolution.

    Sooo... Street Fighter... as long as Im not LOSING money I will continue to make them. I dont need to be profitable. Theres three people in this office total and Im proud of that. Im not one of those people who needs to brag that I have 50 people workign for me. The three of us all love action figures, thats whats important. We do the work that other companies need 12 people to do.

    SOTA is a small company and will stay that way even though by next toy fair we'll probably be making as many figures as companies 4 times our size. Thats the only way we'll be able to make the stuff I want to make and not have to go chase the golden carrot.

    Street Fighter is going to end up being a web based line in the US. You're not going to find very many of them in actual stores unless the independant comic shops step up to the plate.

    okay quick clarification on above statement.

    SOTA TOYS is a small company. SOTA Corp is a bigger company which SOTA Toys is part of. because of all the other stuff we do we dont need to make a giant profit like companies that only make toys do.

    Its an unfair advantage I guess but it will allow us to make stuff that you would NEVER have expected to see... I'll show you at San Diego Comic Con

    Okay this version of Ryu is obviously improved dramatically but I still don't think it's quite there at perfection yet. Is it me or does the jawbone look a little huge which makes the head look big... maybe they should trim the jawbone a tad.

    Taking a break from the Ryu scene. On to some more immediate concerns.

    1. Chun Li. Is her arms going to stay that way or is there a chance for some alterations? Will she have the eye shadows and lose the lipstick?

    2. Any word yet on Bison's cape?

    3. Any chance of sharing which characters are in the lead from the voting poll of series 2?

    Is it too early or too late to be asking these questions? Peace.

    I think it is also great that SOTA has listned to the fans. But I have a concern that not many people have brought up, it's not the biggest of deals and very understandable because they are action figures. But I am wondering if anything can be done with Sagat's crouch area (where the legs move) If you notice on the other characters they all of clothing of some sort to cover up the awkwardness of the leg. (Bision/Ryu have the shirt to hang over, Chun Li has her dress, and Sodom is more of a blocking character anyway so his looks fine) But to me Sagat looks weird with his shorts the way they are. That's all either Sagat still looks awesome, and I will get him anyway.

    I don't know if people still check this site because there is an updated version, however this looks like the place to give criticism about the figures.

    My only question is if we already reached the point where we can no longer comment on the looks.
