The Masters of the Universe action figure line may be sounding the horn of the dead, but The Four Horsemen and NECA hope to bring you a little taste this summer...

From the darkest depths of Eternia HORDAK, the master of evil has returned to wreak havoc upon this summers’ biggest conventions!

Although the new version of Hordak has never before been revealed in 3-D form, soon you’ll finally be able to get your claws on one of He-Man and She-Ra’s greatest villains in the form of a new bust from The Four Horsemen and NECA!

Available this summer only at the San Diego Comic Con and Wizard World Chicago, the ‘Hordak Convention Exclusive’ bust, with a metallic red base will be limited to a total production run of only 750 pieces, and for a price of $50.00 each. The Four Horsemen will also be at NECA’s booth periodically during the San Diego Comic Con and possibly Wizard World Chicago for signings.

So do your part as a loyal warrior of Eternia to help rid the summer conventions of this vile being by stopping by the NECA booth and snagging one for yourself.

.....Hold on a second..We hear a lot of grumbling out there..Those must be the voices of those people not able to make it to the San Diego Comic Con or Wizard World Chicago.

Fear not, loyal Eternian citizen! You should know by now that we wouldn’t let you down. A mere few months after the summer convention season, in early 2005, a Regular Edition of the Hordak bust will be made available for pre-order! The ‘Hordak Regular Edition’ bust will have a black base in place of the metallic red base seen on the ‘Hordak Convention Exclusive’ version, but it will be just as dangerous!

So, whether you’re traversing the catacombs of the summer conventions or delving into the depths of cyberspace, the evil tyrant Hordak can soon be yours to do with as you wish!

I see this awesome stuff and can only feel uncontrollable rage against Mattel for mishandling the line to the point that we will never see a new MOTU Hordak figure. Both the cartoons and the figures were totally mishandled from the marketing standpoint.

No reason to keep beating a dead horse.

Here's yet another fan grumbling about how much I would rather have a Hordak FIGURE... not a stupid bust!!!! I have never seen one collection at any of my buddies houses that has a shelf full of busts collecting dust. Who buys theses things anyways???? Just like the Clawful statue, this is just another way of sacrificing a killer sculpt that would have made an awesome figure in an attempt to make a ton more money than figures would cost to buy. I think they must be trying to milk the cash cow before it dries up.

Yeah....no question about it that stuff like this just makes you sad at the thought of what could have been. It's really cool if you happen to collect busts, but if not, you're S.O.L.

It's almost like a person showing you a photograph of a briefcase full of hundred dollar bills and saying "Well, we can't give you the real thing, so here's this as a substitute."

In case anyone wonders, I harbor zero ill-will towards the 4 Horsemen or NECA...it's a MATTEL thing. If handled correctly, I still don't think MOTU would have been the smash hit of the 2000's, but I do think that the line would have lasted quite a while longer if MATTEL had better case ratios.

"Damn! No new figures. I guess I'll just buy 5 more SMASH BLADE HE-MANS to satisfy myself."

Very smart and very cool move by NECA. Since there's no chance of a Mattel Hordak figure, at least they give us the next best thing.

I'm usually a stickler for scale, but since in the recent cartoon Hordak just appeared as a large floating apparition of a head/bust, I think this bust could just fit the bill. -- But I still would LOVE a Hordak fig or even a statue.

Hmm... If NECA could manage to get permission to make a Balrog fig WHILE Toybiz is still in the middle of producing the LOTR line, I wonder if there's any remote chance of them maybe getting the rights to producing MOTU figures, now that Mattel seems to have given up on this immensely popular property they managed to run into the ground?

It's nice to see that NECA & the 4H are keeping the character designs fresh and ready, but figure collectors & statue/bust collectors are two different spectrums you'll rarely find converging on the same place at the same time.

I don't care how well they do these or how much I like MotU, I have NO use for statues & busts, and unless sombody does make some more figures, my Masters of the Universe collecting days are OVER.

If you like busts & statues, good for you, but anyone who tells me "you should be happy with what you can get" can go take a flying leap at the moon!
I don't shell out good money for something I don't use or want, just because it's all we are allowed get due to some botched marketing strategy, by a company that had no clue about what makes something good.

    No toys, No sale.

I hope we see the 4H's vision of Hordak in action figure form one day.

I guess SDCC shall reveal all. If Mattel still cannot see how they can turn the MOTU line into a highly sought after collectables series, then its good to see that the 4H are getting their ideas out there somehow.

After seeing how Mattel ruined the 4H's She-Ra design and sculpt, its nice to see that they have apparently left this alone (apart from removing the legs and arms that is).

Great work 4H! It's a pity we can't see more of it.
