Words cannot express the dissapointment I feel when I see this final figure. A while ago, the Four Horsemen were generous enough to show all MOTU fans an unpainted prototype of the She-Ra sculpt. It was FANTASTIC! Knowing how much exclusives go for and having been unable to afford Keldor, I immediately started saving for She-Ra who I consider to be an integral part of the MOTU mythology. Not only have I gone months without purchasing a new figure, I've also skipped meals in hopes of attaining this figure. And now this, a final devastating blow from Mattel. Gone is the strong determined facial sculpt and the stylised plastic hair. Instead we get a drag queen with horror of horrors - rooted hair! Furthermore instead of improving on the original figures colour scheme and adding a touch of realism, the gold boots are back. And perhaps worst of all, Mattel has ruined the 4H's perfect sculpt of an updated powersword by painting it gold, the colour of the original She-Ra's sword which was itself a mistake as on the cartoon her sword and He-Man's sword were both silver. While I am trying to understand Mattel's reasoning, I for one believed that this She-Ra was intended to be an update of the original, a newly stylised hero to stand amongst the new 4H Masters. Instead Mattel in their infinite wisdom have insisted that she be changed to a tragic re-hash of the classic figure. I know this will appeal to some, but I was hoping to see an updated She-Ra, just as we have received updated versions of the other MOTU characters. More than this, it is a waste of the 4H's tremendous talent. Why Mattel have insisted upon varying from the prototype shown is a mystery. I wish they hadn't, but then a lot of their decisions regarding MOTU and Comic Batman have been unfathomable. This is just another one to add to the ever growing list. Thanks Mattel for finally giving us a She-Ra figure. But no thanks for first making it an exclusive and then secondly choosing to replace the 4H's fantastic vision with this cheap and gaudy looking figure. |

I'm not too crazy about the Barbie hair (I prefer sculpted hair), but other than that she looks pretty good. Too bad I'll never ever get my hands on one just like I'll never have a Keldor. :( I'll say it again, CON EXCLUSIVES SUCK!! It's totally unfair to fans around the world unable to attend these few American cons, and is just pure fodder for greedy blood-sucking scalpers. |

Hmm, I've never seen the prototype pics so I don't know what I missed or how bad this actually is. Got a link? |

Mattel is the only company to raise it's ass up to collectors faces and take an explosive diarrhea right on our eyes. These motherf$%&ers did this on purpose. Make She-Ra exclusive and change the original Four Horsemen sculpt. Once the dust settles I would like to see Adrian or Nomad do an uncensored interview with the Four Horsemen and get their true 'un-politically' correct opinion of Mattel. What am I saying? We live in a world in which everybody is afraid to speak their mind so they can keep the money coming no matter how hard they have to take it up the @$$. It is called paid intimidation my fellow collectors. They will not say $#it in order to keep the cash coming when Mattel decides to slaughter another line by giving it top quality sculpts and trickle the distribution down to the equivalent of white truffles. I swear to God that they have to have nightmare stories about dealing a group of Mattel executives composed of a dumb good looking woman that was able to suck her way to her MBA diploma, a pencil neck idiot backed by pages and pages of f&^%ing made up data about what kids like and what trends they follow and about fourteen tanned cookie cutter MBAs in their mid-thirties that could give a $#it about toys, kids or the collector market. Go on Mattel. Grab Thundercats and Silverhawks and finally shatter the fond memories that I have from my childhood. You motherf&*#ing son of a ***** bastards. F$^% YOU!!! |

The bright side is, this figure sucks and isn't so much wanted by fans now. Mattel can stick their crappy con exclusive idea now without too many fans worrying. They could at the very least have made this availible at ALL Wizard World conventions throughout 2004. 4 different cons that stretch across the US gives a whole lot more of a chance to get it than just 2 east coast cons. Even the over sea fans would be able to work something out like that with friends or even Ebay without having to pay an arm and leg since the figure would be plentiful. I keep wondering if Mattel is in business to actually make themselves money or boost the scalper market for which they're supposedly getting nothing from. I'm still not sure why Mattel can not just make this rooted hair figure their cute little con exclusive while having the sculpted hair version as a Mattel mail in offer, or something like that. All they'd be doing is changing out the head. |

GO, ATOMIC PUPPY, GO!!! :-) Yeah....MATTEL could ruin a wet dream...there's no question about it. It makes me wonder what goes through a MATTEL executives head. Back in the early 90's, they had the license to THE SIMPSONS and naturally, they concentrated on HOMERS and BARTS. The line quickly died. Now, the SIMPSON'S line is being handled the correct way for the most part, and you can easily find 2nd and 3rd string characters like BLUE HAIRED LAWYER, CLETUS THE SLACK JAWED YOKEL, BUMBLE BEE MAN, WENDEL, TERRY and CHERRY. MATTEL would have to be aware of the lines success, so it makes you wonder if anybody stops to think "Hey, we screwed up, but now Company X is doing the same line, but in an entirely different way, and they are successful!" I guess that doesn't happen, though. |

It it a fact commonly understood amongs male Action figure collectors that rooted hair is a huge turn off. It takes enough bottle to pick up a normal figure in front of other usually younger kids in a toy shop, to expect him to pick up a Barbie type doll is a step to far for most. I wish I had shares in Mattel just so I could voice my opinions about the stupidity of the staff they have, at the next share holders meeting. |

Honestly, the rooted hair isn't a problem for me, since the original had it too. But the original one had a pretty face, and, unlike this one, wasn't made up like J-Lo's trashy twin. |

Con exclusives by far must generate more disappointment and angry toy fans than they do any good. The She-Ra: Princess of Power toy line was done to cater to the female toy fan/child. I know it was my favorite as a child, and seeing She-Ra offered as an exclusive really saddens me. I was very happy to learn the line might be brought back, but this certainly kicked me in the stomach. I have never been able to attend a con and probably never will due to work schedule conflicts. I also refuse to pay secondary market prices on a *new* item. I believe companies should seriously consider doing away with con exclusives, or at the very least allow them to be ordered online or through the various toy magazines. I would not hesitate to purchase the She-Ra in this manner but will not *sigh* be purchasing the figure afterall. Way to go, Mattel. NOT! |
