Running a contest at a major convention has it's privledges..like getting a look at Chronicles of Riddick toys before they hit the pegs! Jump inside for details and tons-o-pics...Exiled to a subterranean prison where extremes of temperature range from arctic nights to volcanic days, Riddick encounters Kyra, the lone survivor from an earlier chapter in his life. His efforts to free himself and Kyra lead him to the Necromonger command ship, where he is pitted against the Lord Marshal in an apocalyptic battle with possibly the fate of all beings—both living and dead—hanging in the balance.
Vin Diesel reprises his star-making Pitch Black role of enigmatic anti-hero Richard B. Riddick in the new science fiction action-adventure epic from Universal Pictures, in association with Radar Pictures and One Race Productions. The Chronicles of Riddick stars Colm Feore, Alexa Davalos, Karl Urban, Linus Roache, Thandie Newton and Dame Judi Dench.
SOTA will be releasing a number of figures to co-incide with the movie:
Each figure will be 7" tall and retail for around $13 each. They'll also be a Deluxe Set of Riddick in Battle Gear outfit and the "Hellhound" figure. I can say no more, other than it has a key role in the movie. Price will be about $20. These are all due to be released on the day of the Movie's release: June 11th. Additionally, SOTA is also creating pre-painted resin mini-busts, and a micro-scale line of collectible spaceships.
NOTES ON THE FIGURES:: Articulation will include a ball-jointed head, pegged and hinged shoulders, upper bicep sculpted swivel, hinged elbows, swivel wrists, waist swivel, "He-Man style" hinged and pegged hips, upper thigh swivels, knee hinges and ball jointed ankles. The four figures we've shot below include all of this. Want to own these prototypes? Hit THIS LINK for details on how to win them!

I want ALL of these figures!!! That movie looks so F-ing sweet! However...I really REALLY want a "regular" Necromonger Trooper figure...you have to have an army to fight Riddick and for Lord Marshal to control! |

Awesome! Now THIS is how you design action figures! (Are you listening McFarlane Toys? Hint Hint) How the heck did SOTA get Riddick to do that split thing? That's pretty RAD! I will probably get a few of these, and I'm not even into the Riddick thing, or human characters for that matter, but these are really looking spiffy! I hope we get to see that "Hell Hound" pretty soon. Great job SOTA! |
