Aside from Muppets Series 10 there were a number of other Muppets Action Figures on display at WizardWorld Philadelphia...

Muppets Series 8
The Muppet phenomenon continues!! Announcing the 8th Series in the Palisades figure line that has taken the action figure world by storm. Featuring the signature-version of Sam the Eagle, Scooter in his usher uniform from 'The Muppets Take Manhattan', Dr. Phil Van Neuter the crazed veterinarian from 'Muppets Tonight', and fan-favorite Marvin Suggs, Series 8 is sure to sure to please hardcore fans and casual collectors alike!

Sam The Eagle
The self appointed guardian of culture and good taste on 'The Muppet Show'. Sam's plans to bring refinement to the Muppets were always foiled one way or another. Sam comes with a lectern, a magnetic 'American Eagle' seal, a copy of the US Constitution, and a book entitled 'Standards and Practices'.

Usher Scooter
In 'The Muppets Take Manhattan', when the Muppets' Broadway show falls apart due to funding, they are forced to find other means of paying the bills. And in one of the movie's most memorable scenes, the irrepressible Scooter ends up ushering at a 3-D movie house. Scooter comes complete with a full sized Popcorn cart with clear windows and working wheels!

Dr. Phil Van Neuter
One of the newer additions to the Muppet family, Dr. Van Neuter first appeared in a sketch called Tales From the Vet on 'Muppets Tonight'. Phil Van Neuter comes with an equipment stand, lab bottles, an eggnog carton - from the memorable skit in which an office Christmas party goes horribly wrong - a clock, and a working file cabinet.

Marvin Suggs
Despite numerous appearances on 'The Muppet Show' in various roles, Marvin Suggs will best be remembered for the pain that he inflicted on the Muppephones for the sake of his 'art'. The poor little Muppephones - round pink and orange creatures with eyes and a mouth - were lined up on a table, and whacked with mallets by Suggs, each uttering their cries in a different tone to create a song. And now you can create his hilarious, memorable scene at home, as Suggs comes complete with 6 Muppephones, a musical 'Muppephone table', and 2 Mallets.

Series 8 is expected to arrive in the spring of 2004. Each case includes 12 figures with special "chase" variants randomly inserted. SRP is $9.99 per figure.

Muppets Series 9
Palisades Toys is pleased to announce the 9th Series in everybody’s favorite award-winning action figure line. Featuring Steppin’ Out Fozzie Bear™, Lips™ (the trumpet player - and final member of the Electric Mayhem™ Band), fan-favorite Pops™ the Doorman, and a classic version of The Swedish Chef™, as he appeared on The Muppet Show! Plus each figure now comes with a very special Muppet “buddy”!

Steppin’ Out Fozzie Bear™
Continuing with Palisades popular “tuxedo” theme is the one-and-only Fozzie Bear, dressed to the nines in a black tux complete with pink polka-dot bow tie! Fozzie’s accessories include a top hat, Chuckie, (Fozzie’s homemade ventriloquist dummy that fits over Fozzie’s hand and comes apart just like on the classic episode with Edgar Bergen), a microphone and microphone stand, joke book and a display base. This Fozzie features an ALL-NEW closed mouth likeness and is a brand new sculpt!

Lips™
Often regarded as “the fifth Beatle” of the Electric Mayhem Band, Lips is a Muppet of few words, opting to express himself instead by simply playing his trumpet. Sculpted as he appeared in his more casual clothes, Lips comes complete with his trumpet, a lava lamp, a record and record sleeve, a mini Electric Mayhem lunchbox (a miniature version of the Palisades EM lunchbox from a couple of years ago!), a display base and 2 Java Muppets, the wacky slinky-looking Muppets who appeared on several episodes of the Muppet Show. Lips will have three unique paint schemes, like the Johnny Fiama “3-paint” from Series 7!

Pops™
Pops is best known as the Muppet Doorman. Whether sitting by the stage door greeting guest stars on The Muppet Show, or working the desk at the front door of The Happiness Hotel in The Great Muppet Caper, Pops is sure to greet you with a (toothless) smile. Pops comes with a Happiness Hotel desk, a bellhop bell, flyswatter, a desk lamp, a Hotel Guest register, and best of all he is accompanied by Gaffer, the famous backstage cat!

The Swedish Chef™
This version of The Swedish Chef the first ever blister carded Chef figure available in the Muppet figure line features the signature white-on-white outfit that he was seen wearing most often on The Muppet Show. The Chef’s accessories include a basketball backboard and hoop (for playing “Chikee-in-der-Baskee”!), a blunderbuss (for turning cabbage into brussel sprouts!), a green Muppet tomato, a display base and an all-new Muppet banana!

Each case includes 12 figures (3 of each figure with one each of the three Lips "chase" variants). All characters and accessories are subject to change. SRP is $11.99. Series 9 will be at retail this Fall.

Sweetums
Sweetums will be a retail Exclusive (not yet sold) with an MSRP of $34.99. We estimated him to be around 10 inches tall, putting him in a very decent scale with the rest of his Muppet brothers & sisters. He's due out in October/November.

Super Beaker
This conceptual Muppet figure, featuring an all-newly tooled figure, will be available at the San Diego Comic Con this year and also through the Palisades Collectors Club. It features three interchangeable heads. The one you see here, a full size Beaker head and a half-head of the hapless assistant, as if he has retracted in fear from some diabolical Muppet Labs invention. Look for the figure in July 2004. MSRP is $15 a piece.
