If ever you beeded a reason to go to this year's Comic Con, this is it, as Sideshow reveal details on their 12" Vampire Angel exclusive...

Limited Edition of 1000

tall, dark Irish gentleman born in the early 1700s, Angel was a young man who was sired by the vampire Darla and becomes the vampire Angelus, the one with the angelic face, the scourge of Europe. His taste for the Dark side ends in 1898 when Angelus feeds off and kills a young Gypsy girl in Romania, causing her tribe's elders to curse him with a conscience and the return of this soul. As a result, Angel is constantly atoning for his many transgressions. He falls in love with Buffy and makes it his mission to help out the Slayer by honing her fighting skills.

The Vampire Angel Comic Con Exclusive figure has over 30 points of articulation for full range of motion and comes with a new costume which includes a short jacket, shackles, two rats, goblet of blood, axe, and a 12 inch figure display stand.

Sideshow is really beginning to suck, literally. If they do one more exclusive that is impossible for Europeans to get hold of, I will be forced to bite them, all.

I agree that anyone not going to the comic con is going to have a hard time getting this figure.....but I wonder wht they have to sell him in such low numbers....I mean 1000 pieces is not alot...and normally you can get these exclusives on ebay etc...but now even if I do find it, I would have to pay an insane amount of money for and have it shipped over to the Netherlands as well...setting me back around 30 dollars at least....I have all the 12 inch Buffy figures (as well as all the smaller ones) but I think this one will pass me by......

am i the only one to think that looks awful?? the head seems screwed up, literally while its either too big for his body or that Sideshow forgot to give him a neck? is it just me? i for one love vampire figures especially the previous ones from MAC but the six inch Angelus figure definately rips this one apart

Hey Sideshow the SDCC is only an annual event lasting a couple of days. How about your fans from the States and around the world that support your products throughout the year! You have an excellent product so sell it at the price you know the market will bear! Make it avaliable to anyone who is willing to pay for it. Don't create artifical shortages. The SDCC Exclusives are a BAD IDEA!

Yeah, sideshow are starting to truly suck.

That said, the angel figure looks like it isn't about to suck blood, something else rather lower down than the neck. The Nazi Kroenen looks good though. But being the Buffy series collector (past tense now?) I don't appreciate being treated with this sort of contempt by them.

I can just see sideshow turning into another Anchor Bay scumbag company though with numerous "limited" releases and rereleases of the same thing with different covers. I can lmost smell the regular vamp faced angel turning up in 6 months without "SDCC Exclusive" printed on the box, just like anchor bay would.
