OK, I'm running hours late, but I've been working on a big post, and then I got told that Marvel Legends 9 images had been released in the UK...
On the back of a british comic book called Avengers United, which collects 3 Avengers comics in one, is a photo of the series. I dont have a scanner, but if you can find the book you can see for yourself.
I says each figure comes with a comic or poster and comes with a bit of Galactus, and it also says that to make Galactus you "collect all 7" so I guess the varients dont have exclusive bits and bobs...
Theres a Photo of Galactus next to the others and he looks BIG, but a little awkward... as if he's VERY concious of being the tallest guy in the room
Hulk has a big old flat head for his first appearance look... but in my opinion doesnt look as good as the first series one...
Deathlok looks good and has a little gun.
Nightcrawler's sneering like he's just smelt something bad and all 3 fingers on both hands look articulated
Dr Strange you have seen of course
Bullseye looks kinda scarey and dirty... and his alternate head has a hellraiser type grimace
War machine is firing all his guns and so comes with an "exploding discharge" look for his weapons, which is not as gross as it sounds...
and Professor X looks surprisingly articulate for someone who isnt very articulate. He's in a funky wheelchait, but not that awful gold space age thing from the 90s...

Wow! What can I say? Nightcrawler looks great. I'm glad they finally made him! The Professer also looks awesome, though he kinda looks funny sitting up so straight (no chest articulation, but since they were trying to give him that nice coat, I guess that's just they way it had to be done). It'd be cool if he came with the cerebro helmet or something. Time will tell. Deathlok I awesome! I always wanted a figure of him, even though I only remember him from Maximum Carnage, and not from much else. Dr. Strange, of course, looks great too, And so does Bullseye. I don't see why we need another bullseye with just a slightly different headsculpt... I don't think people will care too much about which one they get. Hulk looks nice, and well, though it's nice to see a more articulated Hulk than the first ML one, it's nothing too spectacular. I mean, I'll get it if I find it, but I'm not gonna hunt for it. He probably can't even make a fist.. And finally, Galactus looks awesome! He's huge, which means he'll likely be very heavy and possibly hard to stand, but hey, why complain, right? There'll be plenty of time for complaining later when no one can complete the damn guy 'cause they can't find such-n-such figure... All in all, they all look awesome, and though I don't need another Hulk, I want Galactus, so I guess I have to get him. No real problems, though. I can't wait to get them! |

| Wow, this line will be awesome! If you look closely you can see that Galactus has the toe joint, which leasd me to believe he'll be articulated very well, which is impressive. War Machine looks really good, and i'd expect that the "firing parts" will be removable. And in my oppinion, if Galactus looks this good, I can't wait to see the sentinel from series 10!...which i have a feeling we'll see at toyfare.. |

I hope these are early sculpts, because, yeah, some of them look pretty funny. Nightcrawler has a weird sneer and Prof. X had a bit of a pea-head. Also, he's in the same chair as the figure from the original X-men movie. That would be kind of lame... I can't wait to see listings for "Galactus' left leg" on Ebay... :) |

Looking awesome, especially Nightcrawler, though sadly disappointed with the figure I was looking forward to most. Professor Xavier. The sketches had him in his proper Jim Lee colors and the awesome hover chair most people were looking forward to, so we pretty much weren’t just going to get a different version of the movie figure we can still find at retail. These are still early shots so I'm REALLY hoping we see some changes in Prof X come release time since it's still a bit aways. If we cant have the hover chair, I'm hoping for at least the other more normal looking chair with handles, footrest, etc that he also used along with his blanket. A better color scheme overall would be nice too do distract it from the movie one. |

| These all aactually look a lot better than I thought they would. I will have to agree, Prof. X does look kinda... funky. It stinks that you have to get all 7 inoder to make galactis but hey what can you do? I just hope war machine doesnt come with a removable face plate like the other iron man figures. In my opinion its such a stupid feature. |

Not so bad, not so great. I'm wishing for a Prof X make over between now and then, and I'd like to see a new sculpt for War Machine that doesn't use the Iron Man from series one. All in all, though, I can't really complain. Galactus looks pretty damn sweet I must say. Here's hoping I'll be able to construct the fella. |

My official statement about this line: Great line but Professor X should've been in the hover chair. Galactus looks awesome. I have some reserves about the Hulk figures. Are the ML cases becoming 14 per case!? They better be if they want you to collect all 7 figures to put Galactus together considering scalpers will do ungodly acts to get their hands on the ones that are packed one per case so that they could charge $75 to a hundred dollars to fans that want to finish the figure. |

Don't let the desire to get every scoop color your commentary, guys. I've always seen a-f as a great collection of news from around the web, in one easy to browse, friendly place. Who cares if ToyBiz posts pics earlier than you? Last ToyFair, we got to see a year ahead in the world of ML, and I'm pretty sure that we'll see that far ahead this year too, so relax. ML8 has just hit the US... why can't they show images from the next wave? You guys to a great job of collecting news and posting it quickly, and getting it first isn't as important as getting it right and posting it in an easy-to-read manner, which you excel at. Wouldn't you agree? I think that toy companies are seeing that they need to connect to the collectors more directly, and if that means cutting out the middleman to prolong the life of the toy industry, I'm all for it. I'd rather have toys than... lots of talking about toys. |

A variant Bullseye with a grin is totally pointless! That is the most pointless variant in the history of ML.. why don't they just give us the variant head as an accessorie like Deadpool and WeaponX.. and when are they gonna stop usin' the Series1 ironman body for their ironman/warmachine figures? And again..i've had enough of different ironmen, hulks, spidermen, wolverines.etc.. it's nice to have variant versions but not so frequently.....well, despite these long existin' problems..this series rocks! Galactus rocks! |

| Awesome line, few complaints...why is it so hard to give hulk a cool looking face? and why in the world didn't they give Xavier his hover chair that EVERYONE expected, that's just a HUGE let down...other than that, finally they're making that elf to pair up with my wolverine. |
Re: Marvel Legends 9 Revealedby The+Hitman on Dec 18, 2004 - 09:54 PM (User information | Send a message http://) |
| This looks like the most promising series yet, and I cannot wait. If Toybiz fixes their distribution and case ratio problems (with collecting pieces of a figure, anything other an even distribution would be a mistake), they could really be onto something very special. |
