Power Team Elite - Lookout Tower

M&C Toy Centre ( 2003)

Thirty two inches of plastic…feeeel the powerrrr. Ok before I make a joke I’ll regret later, let’s jump in. Presenting M&C’s Lookout Tower scaled for 12” figures! We’ll start with accessories. The tower comes with three gear packs (solid plastic with belt attachments), a canteen, binoculars, automatic weapon with extra clip, hand gun (which goes in the included 12” figure’s holster), rocket launcher with two extra rockets (it really fires..and far. You’ll shoot your eye out.), knife (with sheath), ammo box (which opens), a huge rifle with stand on the front shaft, a radio, a wooden box, rubber netting, a winch (with rope and hook), spot light (which really works) annnnnd a 50 cal. machine gun for the tower (with a string of bullets that attach to it)!! The rifle clips into one wall of the tower while the spot light and winch mount onto the other two. The winch is used in conjunction with the netting to haul the box or other supplies up to the tower. On top of all of this, you’ll find a button on the top of the roof which activates three sounds…an air raid siren, gun fire and an explosion. Can you imagine if they had toys this cool and inexpensive when we were little G.I.Joe collectors? (as opposed to you bigger G.I. Joe collectors with house payments..hehe) You’d never find us in a room with all of these huge play sets.

The tower itself has some nice little details. Along with the attachments I mentioned before, there is a rope ladder with plastic rungs that hooks onto the back quarter. There are little horns you attach under the roof, simulating the PA system. There’s not much more to it. Little dots line the edges to simulate the look of metal on otherwise unpainted parts. All pieces snapped together with extreme ease. I swear I had all of this laid out and set up in under twenty minutes.

A quick mention about the included figure. This is a Power Team Elite next generation body with approximately 26 points of articulation, as was shown off in our review of the “In Pursuit” set. He sports a removable belt which attaches when a square shape slides into a square hole, a nice little touch or realism. Onto this belt you can hook up the holster for his sidearm, the sheath for his knife and any packs with belt clips. He’s also got removable boots, helmet, jacket, pants and those oversized Power Team dog tags. The great thing about this new body would be adaptability. This particular figure has gloved hands which pop off fairly easily, like the head. These figures have come at a time where customization is at an all time high. I’m told you can hunt down M&C toys at Sears, KB Toys and Big Lots in particular, all chains most all of us can find near home. With these pieces retailing at such low prices, it’s a safe bet you’ll be seeing these bodies around for a very long time!

32" Military Lookout Tower with 12" Action Figure retails for $39.99.
