Power Team Elite - Battle Command Post

M&C Toy Centre ( 2003)

You’ve seen me using it for about a year now in review pictures. I get pelted with emails asking about it every time! Well now that I have my two events out of the way, I can finally bring you the review!! Here’s the description from KBToys website…

<<This enormous Battle Command Post is the perfect two-story headquarters for all of your 12-inch military action figures. Super-detailed and filled with numerous accessories, this amazing 54-piece deluxe accessory set for your military action figures is a perfect addition to any military collection and is sure to delight collectors both young and old. A great play environment, or the perfect diorama accessory. Set includes fully detailed inside and outside areas, working doors and authentic details.

The impressive list of included accessories are: two flags, Power Team flag with stand, map, map stand, two water cans, two tables, two chairs, gun rack, assault rifles & shotguns, two cartons, two oil drums, surgical table with wheels, plasma bottle and stand, oxygen cylinder, two play bandages, stethoscope, clip board, instrument tray, scissors, syringe, scalpel, bottle of syrup, bandage, x-ray slide, x-ray slide box, defibrillator with wheels and more. This deluxe command post is the ideal accessory set for Power Team Elite, G.I. Joe, and Dragon action figures. Huge playset measures approximately 2-1/2 feet tall and 2-1/2 feet wide when assembled. >>
Insane, huh? Lets talk about the building itself first. Front side, you get a brick building with little unique features. This is a good thing, as it allows the set to blend into almost any environment. With the two barricades out front (not listed above, so add that to your list!) and the flags in place, you come within the scope of a military feel. Remove the flags and barricades and this could be any building on any street in the world, thought it definitely was meant to have an American feel to it. Now the scale is slightly smaller than it should be to accommodate your average 12” figure, but understandably. If it was perfectly to scale, the set would have to be at least 6 inches taller. As it is, it’s 29 inches tall!! The slight shortening works in its favor in working with your Marvel Legends and McFarlane figures. The windows will appear to be just the right height, the door slightly too tall but the width is right.

The flip side reveals the interior of the building, with two floors and 3 independent rooms meant to be an ammo dump, med room and planning room. The upper floor, having no roof, obviously works well with all 12” figures. The lower floors will make for many a bruised G.I.Joe skull as they hit the doorway …and the ceiling.

The med centre BARELY holds all of its gear! Is this a complaint? Eh. Can you really complain when your given so much gear to begin with?? KB briefly talked about a surgical table with wheels. Ever watch ER? THIS is what you get! The thing has rails, an IV holder and a lower area for more gear. You can even pop the O2 pack onto a bar! The defibrillator pack is just about one whole crash cart. Removing the defibrillator it self , your left with a little tray for surgical tools. You even get a little x ray machine showing someone’s chest x ray! Kb talks about two play bandages. No no no! CASTS! Full casts that open and close for after the battle, faking injuries in court or impressing the ladies in the lodge after faking your “skiing accident.” You get one for a hand and one for a foot. Of course then you need a crutch…so you get that here too.

The ammo dump will hold all of the included gear and then some. The boxes, which I came very close to throwing away with the box until I realized they had tiny writing on them, are real cardboard with packing info and plastic straps! The barrels..well they are big plastic barrels and the gas cans are gas cans and it all makes for a very cool effect..though I’d think twice about putting the ammo dump below the planning room and next to the med room!! That’s just poor planning. If they wanted to reaaally impress me, there would be a separate ammo dump and med tent. I mean c’mon. Details people! Hehe. I’m kidding of course.

There are enough pieces here to drive a little kid insane with happiness for hours, and yea, most adults. Don’t let your girl catch you playing. It’s hard to resist. M&C Toy Centre Power Team Elite: Battle Command Post Two-Story Headquarters retails for $59.99.
