While your waiting for NECA to crank out the boys in grey, Lets spend a few minutes with the ultimate anti-ghoul ride..the Ecto 1. Joyride has cranked out another masterpiece here. They carved out a niche for themselves by creating die cast scale replicas of vehicles from popular TV shows and movies. This one, you can count as being in a slightly higher profile!
The Ecto 1 is jam packed with details. You’re looking at a 1:21 model with a metal body (that’s approx 12” long and 4” high, not including the base.) The hood, front seat doors and back door all work. Turning the steering wheel moves the front tires. Inside the car are the general car details, but you’ll also find a whole mess of electronics in the back. Unfortunately these were near impossible to shoot through tinted glass so try and pick up some details with the spooky night vision shots…very fitting in this case with the green haze and all!
The car comes mounted on a base which you can detach it from by popping out the screws at the bottom. Packed in are some ghost-tracking accents you peg into the hood of the car, four pieces in total. Note in the pictures you’ll see the car with and without these. Also included is SLIMER!! He’s cast in clear plastic with a hard body and floppy hands. There’s not much else to say about this piece. It’s a beautiful car and something I see toy fans diverging from the usual plastic purchases to snap up, much like the recent Batmobile hunting as witnessed on the toy boards. We are covering it after a small stack of requests to see it, and Joyride was nice enough to send one over for you. What are the chances we get a version of this for the 6” figure line? I’d have to say very slim..so grab this version while the gettings good!
